National Flying Camp for 14-18 year-old people.
25. - 30.7.2007, Partaharju, FINLAND

Peltilintu Camp
Peltilintu (“metalbird”) is a flying camp for young people where they familiarize themselves with different forms of aviation. Former camps have included for example airplanes, sailplanes, hot air balloons and gliders. Camps have also offered people a chance to familiarize themselves with various professional groups of aviation, for example the profession of a pilot, mechanic and the profession of aviation technician. In addition, it has been possible to acquire information of different aviation-related hobbies, for example skydiving (parachuting).
Campers have also had an opportunity to fly different sorts of planes. Cessna 206 “OH-MAF”, the airplane of missionaries offers room for six people and, as some sort of a mascot, it is also the training plane of the camp.
In the camp people familiarize themselves with Christian missionary work and the work of flying mission workers. The camp also includes other spiritual program: reverence, Bible study groups, and common church service.
The camp is arranged every two years. The former camps took place in Pattijoki in 2000
and in the airfield of Räyskälä in Loppi in 2002 and in 2004 in Iisalmi.
In the camp there have also been participants from outside the borders of Finland, all the way from Estonia. The instruction languages in the camp are mainly Finnish and English.
The camp will be arranged by the organization of the flying missionaries of Finland - MAF Finland and the local parish. The co-operation also involves other quarters.
